Josh Hutcherson’s high-profile thriller 57 Seconds marks his comeback to the big screen. The Hunger Games star will appear onscreen with Morgan Freeman, a legendary actor in Hollywood. The movie, whose screenplay was written by Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, The Toxic Avenger remake), will be directed by Rusty Cundieff (Tales From the Hood, Chappelle’s Show). E.C. Tubb, a well-known British author, is the narrative upon which 57 Seconds is based.
The movie is being co-financed by Highland Film Group, and sales will start there soon. The Hollywood Reporter describes the movie 57 seconds, which is still in the early phases of production, as a “exhilarating action thriller” with sci-fi overtones. The storyline states:
The movie 57 Seconds centers on tech blogger Franklin Fausti (Hutcherson), who secures a pivotal interview with Anton Burrell (Freeman), a visionary technology expert. Franklin discovers the unusual ring Burrell dropped after stopping an attack on the well-known technophile. The band enables its wearer to travel 57 seconds into the past. Franklin, motivated by retribution and with Burrell’s assistance, uses the ring to take down the pharmaceutical corporation in charge of his sister’s demise. But before long, he finds himself caught up in a perilous and horrific series of incidents where far more than just his own fate is at risk.
Josh Hutcherson, a former child star and Hunger Games participant, is playing the lead and is making his feature film debut after a three-year absence. Hutcherson has primarily acted in indie movies after the Hunger Games franchise’s conclusion in 2015. His most recent big-budget movie was the comedy The Disaster Artist from 2017. Hutcherson has been the star of the egregiously underappreciated comedy series Future Man on Hulu, though. In 2020, the third and last season of the program debuted.
It will be fantastic to see the Zathura in another science fiction movie. Rusty Cundieff, the director, is eager to work with Hutcherson and Freeman as well. Cundieff made the following declaration:
osh Hutcherson as writer for our time-traveling suspenseful film, 57 Seconds. Today, we have technologies at our disposal that enable us to react to events immediately, cutting short our time to be deliberate and weigh the repercussions. The film 57 Seconds explores how feelings affect people’s intrinsic need to solve problems swiftly via technology, whether it be a computer, a pistol, or a drug. With our brilliant cast and production team, I can’t wait to get on set and start doing something spectacular.
